Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
- No account and no sign-up. Your scores and progress stay on your phone.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising ID and similar information to show and measure ads.
- Where the law requires it, you're asked for consent, and you can change your choice any time in Settings → Privacy settings.
- The game sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase, so we can fix problems and improve the game. They don't include your name, email or contacts.
- We don't sell your data.
This policy explains how the Blockwyn game for Android ("Blockwyn", "the app") handles information. Blockwyn is made by Umbra Labs ("we", "us").
1. Your game progress
Your scores, best score, saved games, Daily Challenge streak, Adventure level and settings (sound and vibration) are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. They are not sent to us.
2. Advertising
Blockwyn is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob: a banner, occasional full-screen ads between games, and optional ads you can choose to watch for a reward (for example, to continue a game). To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which can indicate your approximate location), device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
If you are in a region where consent is required (such as the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, and some US states), the app asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown, using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy settings in the app. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your phone).
Learn more about how Google uses this information: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
3. Information we collect
We (Umbra Labs) don't ask for your name, email address or any account, and we don't run our own servers that store information about you. The only information that leaves your phone is what's described in this policy: ad-related information collected by Google AdMob, the usage statistics and crash reports described below, purchase confirmations handled by Google Play and the standard requests described below.
Usage statistics and crash reports
Blockwyn uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google. They collect:
- Usage statistics: events such as starting or finishing a game, the game mode, the score and the level, together with general information such as your device model, Android version, app version, language and country. This is tied to an app-instance ID created by the app, and may also be associated with your device's advertising ID.
- Crash and error reports: when the app crashes or the game hits an error, a report with technical details (what went wrong and where in the code, device model, Android version, app version, and a random installation ID) is sent so we can fix it.
We use this information only to understand how the game is played, to fix problems and to improve it. It doesn't contain your name, email address, contacts or precise location. Google processes it on our behalf and stores it on its servers; see Privacy and Security in Firebase. In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), usage statistics are collected only if you agree, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy settings. You can reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings, and uninstalling the app or clearing its data resets the app-instance and installation IDs.
Game updates and settings
When you open Blockwyn, it checks our website (hosted on Google Firebase) for newer game content and for current game settings, and downloads them if there is something new. These requests contain no information about you or your games. Like any website, our hosting provider may briefly log standard technical details of the request, such as your IP address.
4. Purchases
"Remove ads" is an optional one-time purchase handled by Google Play. Google processes the payment; we don't receive your card or payment details. Google may share limited order information with us (such as an order number, the product bought and your country) so the purchase can be confirmed, restored on a new phone, and refunded if needed. Google's own privacy policy applies to the payment.
5. Permissions the app uses
- Internet and network state: to load ads, check for game updates and settings, and confirm purchases.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob as described above.
- Google Play billing: for the optional "Remove ads" purchase.
Blockwyn doesn't access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, messages or precise location. Vibration uses your phone's standard touch feedback and can be turned off in the game's Settings.
6. Backups
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include Blockwyn's progress in your device backup, so it comes back when you set up a new phone. That backup is created and stored by Google under your Google account and its privacy terms; we can't access it. You can turn Android backup off in your phone's settings.
7. Keeping or deleting your data
Your progress stays on your phone until you remove it. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling Blockwyn deletes it from your phone (but not an Android backup, which you can manage in your Google account). Usage statistics are kept by Google Firebase for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. For information Google collects for ads, see Google's controls linked above.
8. Children
Blockwyn is made for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we'll help.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or to opt out of personalized advertising. Your game data stays on your phone, where you can manage it directly, and you control your ad choices in Settings → Privacy settings and your Google account. If you have any question or request, for example to have analytics data linked to your app-instance ID deleted, contact us and we'll help.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app.
